The open air space consists of a bar and a large area with comfortable chairs, couches, and tables for people to gather. The standout at Hotel Indigo is a the rooftop lounge, H&L Social. With all of the excellent restaurants within walking distance, it’s a hard sell. The hotel website lists room service, though there was no menu in the room or even a list of services. The menu selections and pricing seem a bit random trying to be a bit too upscale. I had to look up the menus online since there were none in the room. Lunch and dinner are available, though the restaurant didn’t appear to be open when we checked in around 2pm. A basic eggs, hash browns, and toast is around $12. There was a $10 for two breakfasts offer with the room booking, otherwise it would have been a pricey morning meal. The waitresses were attentive and even offered a cup of coffee for the road. The food was good with the locally baked bread being the standout. We ate breakfast at the main restaurant, Warehouse Kitchen + Cork. A coffee bar is available in the mornings, though I didn’t get a chance to see what they were offering. The main lobby has a long bar facing the lake (and traffic) and there is also a nice sitting area. A rooftop lounge offers spectacular views and several comfortable seating areas to relax with friends. & suites and 7 fully accessible rooms are available. The hotel consists of 4 stories with 107 rooms. Situated in the northwest corner of town, it boats lake front views on one side and an upcoming section of trendy shops and eateries on the other. The Hotel Indigo opened in 2016 and is one of the very few lodging options within the highly walkable downtown Traverse City. With sky high summer pricing going into effect, I decided to stay just one night for the experience and see if it would remain on my list for a Fall color tour base. There are few reviews and not a lot of information, so it was difficult to tell if the service and comfort would match the sleek style. It is also in a prime location on the edge of the downtown area. It stood out from the crowd of mostly older chains with its distinctive modern design. On a recent trip to Traverse City, the new Hotel Indigo caught my eye. Cherry Capital Airport is four miles away.The hotel offers internet access, wireless internet access, a restaurant, a bar, a transfer service and a business centre. The slots at Turtle Creek Casino are 40 minutes east and the Old Mission Point Lighthouse is half an hour north with wineries sprinkled along the way. Drive two miles to shop the bustling Village at Grand Traverse Commons and two-and-a-half miles to explore the Great Lakes Children's Museum. Stroll four blocks to historic City Opera House and five blocks to check out the Inuit sculptures at the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College. Nestled in the heart of downtown the Park Place Hotel is two blocks from the boutiques and eateries on Front Street and three blocks from Clinch Park on Grand Traverse Bay. Purchase souvenirs for friends and family at the gift shop. Dine at the hotel restaurant and then sip cocktails in the lounge overlooking the bay or on the candlelit terrace. A fitness center and sauna will put you in vacation mode. Today its 140 non-smoking rooms are furnished with Victorian flair and feature a refrigerator premium cable channels and high-speed internet some rooms offer balconies and bay views. This historic 10-story tower dates back to 1873 and was once the tallest building in town. A terrific downtown location rooftop bar with sweeping bay views and a grand style make the historic Park Place Hotel Traverse City one of the most popular area hotels with our guests.
